There’s something special happening in the hills above Napa Valley in California, and I’m incredibly excited to share it with you.

Surrounded by oak forests, rugged canyon terrain, wildflowers, creek crossings, and sweeping Napa Valley ridgelines, Moore Creek Park has quickly become one of Northern California’s most exciting mountain bike destinations. Now riders have the chance to experience it together during the Moore Creek Co-Ed Clinic that I’ll be leading alongside Kim Meredith.
Located in the heart of Napa Valley near Lake Hennessey, Moore Creek Park offers miles of scenic and progressive singletrack designed for riders looking to improve skills, build confidence, and reconnect with the fun side of mountain biking. But for many of us, especially those navigating life transitions, stress, fear, burnout, or even heartbreak, mountain biking becomes much more than exercise or recreation.

For me, it becomes healing, happiness, empowerment, and living a happier, healthier life on and off our bikes.
There’s something incredibly powerful about getting back on a bike after life knocks you down. Sometimes growth starts with learning how to corner better, descend with more confidence, or trust yourself again after a crash, both on and off the trail. I’ve learned that many riders struggle not because they lack ability, but because nobody ever taught them the fundamentals in a way that feels approachable, encouraging, and supportive. That’s exactly why I’m so passionate about clinics like this.
This isn’t just another group ride.
This is an opportunity for women and men to learn in a welcoming, no-pressure environment while exploring one of the most beautiful and rapidly growing trail systems in Northern California. It’s a place where riders can challenge themselves without judgment, ask questions without embarrassment, and discover that progression doesn’t happen through pressure. It happens through patience, repetition, encouragement, and community.

Throughout the clinic, we’ll work on real-world mountain bike skills riders can immediately apply on trail while becoming smoother, calmer, and more confident overall. Riders will work on:
Cornering and descending with more confidence
Climbing efficiency and bike handling– Reading technical terrain
Braking and line choice
Riding relaxed and in control on trail
Sessioning features safely
Improving body position and trail awareness
Building confidence riding unfamiliar terrain
Learning how to ride with less fear and more flow
And perhaps most importantly, riders will gain confidence riding alongside a supportive community focused on progression instead of perfection.
Because confidence on a mountain bike often spills into the rest of life.
I’ve seen riders completely transform after one breakthrough corner, one successful climb, or one moment where they stop doubting themselves and realize they’re stronger and more capable than they thought. The ability to trust yourself through technical terrain starts looking a lot like trusting yourself through difficult seasons in life. Riders begin standing taller, riding stronger, speaking with more confidence, and reconnecting with parts of themselves they may have lost somewhere along the way.
For some riders, this clinic may be the first time they’ve truly felt supported on trail. For others, it may be the moment they finally stop letting fear control their riding. And for many, it becomes a reminder that mountain biking is not about perfection. It’s about growth, resilience, connection, adventure, and learning how to keep showing up for yourself.
Moore Creek is uniquely suited for this kind of experience. The park blends flowing singletrack, scenic climbs, technical features, and approachable terrain that allows riders to safely session skills and improve at their own pace. The trail system includes everything from beginner-friendly flow to more advanced rock features and technical terrain, making it an ideal learning environment for riders looking to progress naturally and safely. Thanks to the continued work of local trail advocates and Redwood Trails Alliance, Moore Creek continues evolving into a world-class destination with thoughtfully designed trails built for sustainability, progression, and community recreation.
The setting itself is part of the experience.
One moment we’re weaving through shaded creek corridors beneath oak canopies. The next, we’re climbing ridgelines overlooking Napa Valley’s rolling hills and the shoreline of Lake Hennessey. It’s the kind of place that reminds people why they fell in love with mountain biking in the first place.
And sometimes, it reminds us how to reconnect with ourselves again too.
For newer riders, intermediate riders looking to level up, or anyone wanting to feel more confident and connected on trail, the Moore Creek Co-Ed Clinic offers far more than skills instruction.
It offers community. Adventure. Progression. Healing. Empowerment. And the chance to experience the mountains of Napa Valley alongside riders who simply want to learn, grow, ride, and have fun together.
For riders traveling in for the clinic, nearby Calistoga offers the perfect place to unwind and recover after a full day on trail. Visitors can enjoy mineral hot springs, spas, incredible restaurants, wineries, and boutique lodging just a short drive from Moore Creek Park. Some of my favorite places to stay nearby include Indian Springs Calistoga, Mount View Hotel & Spa, Cottage Grove Inn, Solage Auberge Collection, and Golden Haven Hot Springs.
Because sometimes one great day on trail can completely change the way someone experiences mountain biking.
And sometimes, it can change the way they experience themselves.
